So following one of the tutorials, I downloaded Format Factory and converted the video to an AVC-encoded avi file. Launch the video conversion software on your computer, open Converter, then click Add Files button to add files or just drag and drop the AVI files into the blank space. I tried a couple of different methods to convert the video to avi: I first put it into Sony Vegas and selected avi (original format is mp4), but that didn't work that's when I learned it has to be a specific type of avi. I installed a Windows 10 codec pack and restarted my computer. Most of the tutorials are super outdated, so I'm not sure whether it's me not being the most computer savvy or that's the issue.

So I've read every tutorial I could find on the matter and am still struggling with this. Edit: Question has been answered! Leaving it up for anyone in the future who is similarly struggling.
